Teatro Romano
It overlooks the Adige river. Reach the top of the flight of steps... You won't regret it! Furthermore, every summer a Festival dedicated to Shakespeare's theater takes place here..
It's an open air theatre, built in the Ith century a.C. on the Colle San Pietro, on the right shore of the river Adige. The structure is one of the most oustanding archaeological monuments of Verona and it's used like theatrical space during the summer. The theatre is built on the northern side of the city, under Colle San Pietro. Today we can see only ruins of the opera. In 1904, the common of Verona bought all the zone and kept going with the work of excavation and demolition. In the 1851 on the top of the hill, the remains of the temple were founded, and they showed the original structure of the theatre.
